There's still a lot of time to go...but when you really think about it, 230 or so days isn't really a whole lot.
Things have pretty different the last few weeks. I lost my job as a producer at one of the news station here in Charleston. It was a pretty stupid reason why they let me go, but hey... I'm fine with it because I wasn't completely happy there. Yea, I made some friends and I really miss them but I don't miss the daily grind.
Anyways... speaking of work, I've hired a videographer for the wedding. A lot of people I've talked to, including my own mother, said the one thing they wished that had done was hire a videographer so they could really look back on the day to see what they were really laughing about or see things they didn't get a chance to see that day. I've actually hired Josh Ambrite of Briteside Productions. He's the chief photographer at the tv station I was working at. He's an amazing photog (as we call it in the news business) and has won dozens of awards for his work. I'm pretty excited about having him!
On a side note, Dave and I just returned from western Tennessee from his cousin's wedding. Mary Ann and Phillip were married Saturday along Kentucky Lake, just outside of Paris, TN. It was absolutely beautiful. The weather was perfect. Of course there were a few hiccups. The maid of honor lost her dress at the dry cleaners and Phillip left the marriage license at home, so the ceremony started a little later than planned but overall it was a great event. The reception was very causal and laid back with plenty of beer and wine to go round. The couple also had a live band which played some great music.
We stayed at a cabin on the other side of the lake with some of Dave's family. We got the chance to see his Dad and brother. I also got to meet his Aunt Dana and Uncle Brock (his dad's siblings) along with all of their families.
I've included a picture of the Turner Family -- Three generations of Turners. We had such a great time on the lake as well as just hanging out in the cabin and in town. I loved getting the chance to meet more of his family and can't wait for them to join us in May for our special day.
Until next time....
